Location: 201 Millennium Science Complex

Date: March 15, 2018

Time: 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM

The Energy and Environmental Sustainability Laboratories (EESL) is holding an open meeting to help articulate shared equipment needs and prioritize for the future.

We are developing a prioritized list of instruments for energy and environmental scientists that we highlight for purchase and placement in multi-user facilities on campus. All faculty are invited to attend this meeting. We encourage faculty to bring suggestions for instrumentation that would significantly enhance energy and environmental research on campus.

Funding priorities for future instrumentation purchases will be evaluated against needs and opportunities from other Penn State shared instrumentation facilities in materials research, life sciences, social science, and other fields, so we want our energy and environmental needs to be well documented and competitive. As you think about instruments to propose, please bring budgetary estimates, potential faculty users, and research areas that will benefit from the proposed equipment.

EESL advisory committee members are available for consultation about instrument needs. Our goal is to always have a list of prioritized equipment needs in the area of energy and environmental science that EESL can work with to move toward acquisition. The University is making funds available and EESL is working with the University to make good choices. We encourage your input.
